Quizzle Talks Credit in California

And… we’re back! In case you missed my blog post earlier this week Quizzle Project Manager, Kristina Hall and I, spent the last few days at the Experian Partner Forum in San Diego, California.

If you’re not familiar with Experian, it’s one of the three major credit bureaus. In fact, when Quizzle gives you your free credit report and score, what you’re getting is a full Experian credit report.

So, it was there at the Experian Partner Forum where we attended classes, spoke to experts, and soaked up all sorts of new information to help benefit you – our consumers.

You were the Topic of Discussion
We heard from some very talented and enthusiastic presenters, and learned a whole lot about the credit industry, and a lot about you. Yes, you.

One of the things that came as a real shocker to me is that a growing number of people are scared to check their credit report and score. In fact, experts estimate only one in four consumers actually know their credit score. Many often choose to ignore credit because they’re scared they may find something negative on their report, or that their score may prevent them from qualifying for things they want like a new house, new car, or credit card. And since we’re talking numbers, experts suggest less than 50% of consumers actually know that having a bad credit score can end up costing them more in interest on their loans.

At Quizzle, we strive to demolish that fear and smash it to smithereens. We aim to make credit easier by helping people understand their home, money and credit situation. We also learned people love personalized information. Good thing Quizzle provides free personalized mortgage and credit recommendations.

Albert Einstein was there!
Ok, not really, but Einstein’s words of wisdom were. Have you ever heard of Ross Shafer? For those of you who haven’t, he’s a comedian and award winning television host turned motivational and customer service speaker/trainer. He’s best known for his broadcast work on The Late Show, Days End, and the Match Game. But that’s not all, he’s also the author of Are you Relevant? and Nobody Moved Your Cheese!

For me, Shafer’s presentation really hit home with when he talked about success and quoted Albert Einstein: “Many of the great achievements of the world were accomplished by tired and discouraged men who kept on working.”

It was right there in the middle of the forum that I started thinking about all the Quizzlers who have emailed in telling us how excited they were to get started working on improving their credit and then emailed in again a few months later, when the positive changes they were looking for didn’t happen as fast as they would have liked. End result – they gave up.

Now, I’ll be honest, I know this sounds a little “cheeseballish,” but consider Einstein’s quote when you’re about to give up working on improving your credit.

Keep working. Keep going. And most of all, keep calm and Quizzle on.
