1. Only half the pilgrims who made the trip to America on the Mayflower in the Fall of 1621 survived. Thankful to be alive, they decided to make a Thanksgiving feast.

3. About 90 Wampanoag Indians and their chief were invited to the first Thanksgiving feast.
4. The first Thanksgiving celebration lasted three days.
